Print Options

A number of customisable parameters are available for the Continuous Print facility:

Port: Select a port to send printer data to.

Resolution (DPI): Select the desired setting. Note that the mode selected should match the capabilities of the printer (e.g. do not select a 24 pin mode for use with an 8 or 9 pin printer).

Print Width: Select the width of the printout, in inches. This should be set to reflect the physical size of the paper used, although smaller widths may be specified (leaving space for binding, notes, etc).

Page Length: Used to print periodic ID and scale markers (see below). A mathematical calculation of page position is made, which can differ slightly from physical position from one printer model to the next, so some adjustment to this value may be necessary to achieve the desired length. This value is used to set the required spacing for the Scale and ID markers, and need not reflect the actual page length.

Print ID labels: Select ‘When Change’ to print ID markers when streams are added or removed from the printing WaveView window. Select ‘Every Page’ to print ID markers at the spacing indicated by Page Length, above.

Print Amplitude Scale: Select ‘When Change’ to print a scale bar when the amplitude scale of the printing WaveView window changes, or the Print Width is changed. Select ‘Every Page’ to print a scale bar at the spacing indicated by Page Length, above.

Print Date: Select ‘When Change’ to print the date every midnight. Select ‘Every Page’ to print the date at the spacing indicated by Page Length, above.

A Windows printer driver is not required for continuous printout, since the direct printer control uses Epson ESC/p commands.
