Print Features

Two methods of hardcopy are available: Page Print and Continuous Print. They work in very different ways, and use separate set-up parameters.

Page Print (default)

Uses the Windows printer drivers. The streams in any WaveView window can be printed to a Windows installed printer. Click the button to send the currently displayed data to the selected printer. The output is a full page print of the selected WaveView window, using the set amplitude and time scaling, filtering and other display options. A print can be executed at any time, even when in paused mode - what is displayed is printed.

Setup options for the page print are in File | Printer Setup... and uses the standard Windows setup pages.

To automatically generate page prints at predefined intervals, select the ‘Auto-Print’ option from the drop-down menu of the button (click on the down arrow). To produce consecutive page-prints which represent a continuous time period, you should ensure the WaveView window's time span matches the interval you select in the "Auto-Print" options.

Page Print (monochrome)

As above, except allows a page print on a colour or grayscale printer to generate a black-and-white output, which may be more suitable for copying or faxing.

Continuous Print.

Direct output to a communications device. Does not use any Operating System printer drivers installed, and doesn't need any. It has it’s own setup. It can be enabled from the drop-down menu of the button (click on the down arrow). See Continuous Printing for more information.
